AfricaGeo 2018

Ecopia identified AfricaGeo as an amazing opportunity to work with African countries and help them with our products like Global Footprint Extraction and Land Classification on things like population growth mapping and asset management.

Recently, Ecopia packed up and hopped on a long flight over to Johannesburg, South Africa to attend AfricaGeo2018. Between September 17th — 19th, 2018 nearly 1000 delegates from South Africa as well as state representatives from across the continent were in attendance at the conference. Attendees had access to industry booths, educational sessions, and incredible keynote speakers — the place was buzzing with possibilities!

With the population in Africa expected to double in the next 30 years, Ecopia identified AfricaGeo as an amazing opportunity to work with African countries and help them understand how their population and assets are growing. With products like Global Footprint Extraction and Land Classification, Ecopia is poised to help these countries in multiple ways.

Proudly supporting our Canadian roots, we brought a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey and a Toronto Raptors jersey with us to be raffled to a couple lucky attendees. In an incredible twist, the winner of the Toronto Maple Leafs jersey has a son who is a member of the South African National Hockey Team!
