Ecopia AI & Vantor Partner to Map the World in 3D

September 17, 2025 - Toronto - Ecopia AI (Ecopia) announces a partnership with Vantor (formerly Maxar Intelligence) to launch high-precision mapping data at an unprecedented global scale, committing to produce more than one billion features around the world. Ecopia 3D Land Cover powered by Vantor is already in use by both US and international government organizations as well as the private sector to support basemapping, change detection, land use planning, public safety, and similar geospatial intelligence workflows. 

While Ecopia has a 10+ year track record of producing geospatial data with high geometric accuracy at scale, this new partnership with global satellite imagery provider Vantor unlocks the ability to create and efficiently maintain large-scale, standardized, interoperable, and high-precision mapping data anywhere in the world. 

To produce this dataset, Ecopia’s AI map engine efficiently extracts vector features with >95% geometric accuracy from Vantor's 10+ year archive of 30cm satellite imagery. Even as Vantor's constellation of satellites collects new imagery daily, the corresponding map data is aligned across sensors and time to ensure its persistent real-world location and prevent “drifting” features that make it difficult to analyze information as basemaps are updated. 

This unique combination eliminates the need for manual data digitization and maintenance of large-scale map data, which is not only resource-intensive upfront but also difficult to manage over time as new imagery is captured. Ecopia’s AI-based systems efficiently digitize features from Vantor imagery anywhere in the world at continental scales, producing data that can be easily updated with the latest imagery while maintaining interoperability to ensure maps are comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date.
