July 29, 2026 – Toronto – Today, Ecopia AI (Ecopia) announced that it has been named to Geoawesome’s 2026 Global Top 100 Geospatial Companies, an annual list showcasing the most innovative and influential companies in the geospatial industry. The recognition comes as Geoawesome marks its 15th anniversary, with Ecopia earning a spot on the list for the fifth consecutive edition.
In honor of a milestone year for Geoawesome, the selection process was determined entirely by the geospatial community, rather than a curated panel of international experts. More than 125 professionals across the geospatial industry weighed in on which companies would ultimately be awarded a spot on the list. These individuals harnessed their expertise and experience to consider various factors, such as whether companies are breaking boundaries, creating value, and propelling the industry forward. Geoawesome has described this community-led format as a one-time approach to mark its 15th anniversary, with a combined community and expert model planned for 2027.
Putting high-precision geospatial data within reach
Ecopia continues to provide highly accurate, scalable, and up-to-date vector data to professionals across industries such as insurance, government, civil engineering, and beyond. Ecopia delivers data on critical infrastructure elements with the speed and flexibility required to keep visualizations, analytics, and decision-making current in a dynamically changing world.
Most recently, Ecopia launched a new online data portal in April 2026. This self-service platform provides instant access to high-precision mapping data extracted from high-resolution geospatial imagery. Users can browse, sample, and purchase more than 75 layers of off-the-shelf land cover and transportation datasets, or place custom orders. This launch reflects Ecopia’s continued push to put high-quality geospatial data within easier reach, directly fueling growth across the broader geospatial industry. See the platform in action.
Digitizing the world using AI
“Being named to this list by the geospatial community itself is especially meaningful,” said Brandon Palin, Head of Product Growth at Ecopia. “Our mission is to create a digital twin of the Earth, and that work only matters if the data reaches the people solving real problems — in government, insurance, civil engineering, and beyond. Making high-precision geospatial data easier to access is how we intend to keep earning this recognition.”

About Geoawesome
Geoawesome’s Global Top 100 Geospatial Companies is an annual list recognizing organizations shaping the future of the geospatial industry, spanning established leaders, fast-growing scale-ups, and specialists across areas such as 3D mapping, spatial digital twins, GeoAI, and climate and sustainability solutions. The list is not a ranking; companies are presented in alphabetical order. With a new community-led approach in 2026, Geoawesome’s goal remains the same: to offer a trusted, independent reference point that helps practitioners, partners, investors, and policymakers learn who is making strides in the geospatial industry. It acknowledges companies that play meaningful roles through their technology, products, services, research, and/or community impact.
